An Eden Prairie Kitchen Remodel Built Around Vaulted Ceilings and Dark Green Cabinetry

A Full Kitchen Remodel. A Vaulted Ceiling Addition. A Kitchen Built to Open Up and Fill With Light.

The Story

The Eden Prairie Project

Some renovations begin with a single frustration: a kitchen that feels closed off, constrained by a low ceiling, and disconnected from the mature trees just beyond the windows. That was the starting point for this project—a desire for an open layout, both structurally and visually, and a space designed for everyday cooking as well as entertaining friends and family. Rather than a cosmetic update, the project evolved into a full remodel, complemented by a beautiful vaulted ceiling addition that brought the height, light, and sense of openness the space had always been missing.

An Eden Prairie Kitchen Remodel Built Around Vaulted Ceilings

By raising the ceiling into a full vaulted addition, the transformation extends throughout the kitchen, creating a greater sense of volume and allowing natural light to pour through the double-hung windows. The contrast of moody green cabinetry, warm brass hardware, and a crisp white quartz island creates a refined, inviting aesthetic. At the heart of the space, the island is where everyday life unfolds—preparing meals, sharing laughter, and making memories in a kitchen designed to be enjoyed, not simply photographed.

Custom Kitchen Cabinetry with a Built-In Coffee and Wine Station

Along the adjoining wall, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry in a deep, custom dark green expands the kitchen’s storage while incorporating a dedicated coffee and wine station conveniently positioned near the island. Brass bar pulls extend the full height of the tall cabinet towers, adding a bold, distinctive detail and making a statement within the space. The same double-hung windows keep the room feeling bright and open, visually connecting the cabinetry wall to the kitchen’s larger vaulted-ceiling design rather than treating it as a separate element.

The Result

From the vaulted ceiling that finally let this Eden Prairie kitchen breathe to the dark green cabinetry wall that added a dedicated coffee and wine station, every choice in this remodel was made to serve how the family actually uses the space, morning coffee at the island, wine and conversation at the cabinetry counter, daylight filling the room from every seat. Story Homes approaches every kitchen remodel and whole-home renovation with the same philosophy: creating spaces that reflect and support the way a family lives today, while remaining timeless enough to feel relevant for years to come.
